Life Before
Eyelash Extensions

From humble beginnings, Wiki has a naturally nurturing nature.
​
She is 1 of 12 siblings, 3x brothers, and more importantly for our story, 8x sisters, six younger and two older.
Having so many sisters to practice with, she honed her beauty skills and grew a passion for beautifying others from an early age.
​
Her attention to detail, speed, and overall skill in all things beauty-related cemented her first role as the go-to hairstylist and beautician for her siblings and extended family.
In 2007 Wiki decided on a hairdressing course to help with her own growing family which then lead to her completing a beauty course in 2014, on the Gold Coast, QLD.
This beauty course taught her the intricacies of a beautician's world, makeup, nails, waxing, eyebrows and here she also had her first experience applying eyelash extensions.
THE WINKX FX STORY
The business of eyelashes

The plan was to open a home-based beauty business that offers affordable quality beauty services, made possible by the low running costs of a home-based business.
​
Unfortunately, being new to the business world combined with costly mistakes and real-world problems eventually lead to the business closing its doors. But on the brighter side, valuable lessons were learnt, which prove vital later in life.
​
The idea and the passion was still raging but re-starting another beauty service business was put on the back burner as another business opportunity for Wiki's partner Cliff, arose in New Zealand.
​
Fast forward to 2018, with Wiki and her family now living in Christchurch, she decides to open a home-based lash extension business with the influence and help of two of her younger sisters, who had a similar business that was doing well.
Wiki's early life experience, beauty service training, and tireless practice with willing and unwilling models (see pic below) very quickly gave her the confidence and competence to take on paying clients in the world of eyelash extensions.
With a bit of thought and the urge to help people, the idea to teach others to own their own eyelash business came about.
Single moms, students, and anyone who needed income to revolve around their lifestyle could learn from Wiki's experiences.

The training idea, at the time, was something Wiki's sisters were not open to, and so Winkx FX was born, Jan 2019.
Also, at that point, it was decided that Christchurch was too small for their ambitions and the Gold Coast eyelash extension scene was the place to be.
​
Since moving back to Australia, Wiki has built her own loyal clientele base and has trained numerous confident and competent eyelash technicians, to own and operate their own successful home-based businesses.
WHERE IS WINKX FX TODAY?

In 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic stopped the world in its tracks, including the beauty industry in Australia, which was one of the first service industries forced to stop operations.
​
Like most people in the world at that time, battles were fought on all fronts, business, family, personal, etc, and with that, more important lessons were learned, some being patients and persistence.
​
The drive to help other women (and men) become their own bosses, by opening their own home-based lash extension salons, is still driving Winkx FX today.
​
Wiki and Cliff know all of these goals are impossible without ensuring their clients are completely happy with the eyelash extension service.
Pricing, professionalism, cleanliness, speed, and good retention along with a welcoming, open, friendly vibe are the traits instilled in the lash technicians trained by Wiki and Winkx FX.
